Your lifetime total in three steps
- Request your data from Amazon: Request your data → Your Orders, confirm the e-mail and download the ZIP (step-by-step guide).
- Drop the whole ZIP on the box above, so digital orders and refunds are read too. The Lifetime tab opens.
- Read the total for each currency, then the year-by-year table and your biggest orders. Download the table as Excel or CSV if you want to keep it.
What the lifetime total includes
- Physical orders from the order file —
Order History.csv(since February 2026),Retail.OrderHistory.N.csvor the old order report. Each item counts with Amazon's own total: price, tax and shipping, minus discounts. - Digital orders from
Digital Content Orders.csv: Kindle books, apps, video, music (more on digital orders). - Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh deliveries when they are in the order file (marketplace
panda01), and Subscribe & Save deliveries, which are ordinary orders. - Refunds from the refund files — shown next to the total and subtracted only in Spent − refunds, in the year they were issued (how refunds are matched).
- Each currency on its own: a USD total, a GBP total and so on, never converted or added together.
What it leaves out
- Cancelled orders, unless you tick Count cancelled orders. Failed digital orders count as cancelled. Refunds of fully cancelled orders are then not subtracted either, so the same money is not taken off twice.
- Prime membership fees. They are billed outside your orders, so they are not order rows. Amazon shows them under your Prime membership and in Your Transactions; the data request has a separate Subscriptions category, which this viewer does not read.
- Digital subscriptions such as Kindle Unlimited or an Audible membership count only if Amazon lists their charges in the digital orders file.
- In-store purchases at Whole Foods Market are in a different file of the full data request, not in Your Orders, and are not read.
- Amazon Pay payments on other websites are not Amazon orders and are not in these files.
How “spent” is calculated
- Per item, Amazon's own number. The viewer uses the
Total Owedcolumn (Total Amountin exports since February 2026,Item Totalin the old order report). Amazon fills it for every item: price × quantity + tax + shipping − discounts. - Computed only when empty. If a row has no total, it is calculated from
(Unit Price + Unit Price Tax) × Quantity + Shipping Charge − Total Discountsand marked with ≈. - Cancelled orders are left out of the totals unless you tick Count cancelled orders.
- One total per currency. Dollars, euros and pounds are never added together.
- Refunds (from the refunds file in the ZIP) are listed separately; each currency shows what you spent, what was refunded and the difference.
- Dates are taken as written in the file. Amazon writes order times in UTC (the
Zin2024-03-05T14:22:11Z), so an order placed late on 31 December in America can count for 1 January.
Reading the Lifetime tab
- One headline per currency: spent, number of orders, the dates of your first and last order, refunded, and spent − refunds.
- Per year: physical, digital, spent, refunded, spent − refunds and orders for every year, plus an all-years row.
- Biggest orders: your ten largest orders by order total, with date, order ID and products.
- Filters apply: pick a marketplace or a search term and the summary follows; a note says when filters are on.
- Two exports at once? Identical files are skipped and refunds count once, but two different order files with the same orders would count them twice — the tab warns when one order appears in two files.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see my total Amazon spending on the website?
Not as one number. Your Orders can be filtered by year, but you add the orders up yourself, and digital orders sit in a separate view. The data export lists every order in one place, and that is what this page totals.
Does the total include my Prime membership?
No. Prime fees are billed outside your orders and are not rows in the order files. Amazon shows them under your Prime membership and in Your Transactions.
Are refunds subtracted?
They are shown separately: spent, refunded and spent − refunds, per currency and per year. A refund listed on several identical rows counts once.
Why is my total different from my bank statements?
The total adds up what Amazon lists per item. Card charges differ because of gift card balances, promotional credit, orders charged in several parts, refunds and your bank's currency conversion. Use the total as a close estimate, not as an accounting record.
Does it work with Amazon.co.uk, .de, .ca and other countries?
Yes. Columns are recognised by name, and every marketplace keeps its own currency. Totals are never added up across currencies: you get one total for USD, one for EUR, one for GBP and so on.
Is my order history uploaded anywhere?
No. The ZIP or CSV is read by JavaScript in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored after you close the tab.
Do I have to sign in or connect my Amazon account?
No. You download the file from Amazon yourself and open it here. This site never asks for your Amazon password and has no access to your account.
